STEM, Recycling and Dodgeball Champions!
February has been a very busy and fun-filled month for Primary 4!
We started the month with a new STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) challenge, which was to build a model football stadium with working floodlights. The children worked very hard, designing, measuring and constructing their stadiums. They also used their knowledge of electrical circuits to create the floodlights (a circuit with multiple bulbs). The groups worked very well together, and the end results were fantastic!

Brooke, Rhys and Lacey had the original idea of opening their box up whilst creating the sides of their stadium. They glued them back up at the end and the end result was brilliant!
| Mary, John, Sasha Aleishia had some trouble creating the goals, but they got there in the end! |
| Libby, Brooke and Lauren decided to make their goal posts out of straws. This made them very sturdy, well done girls! |
| Hailey and Cara did lots of measuring to create their stadium. Here they are constructing the goals out of straws and string. |
| Great team work Leigh, Leah and Evan! |
| Libby and Eva went the extra mile and made ANOTHER stadium at home! We were so pleased to see their efforts, fantastic home learning girls! |
Primary 4 were also lucky enough to receive a visit from West Dunbartonshire Council's waste management team. They participated well in a discussion about recycling, answering some very tricky questions! The children also watched a cartoon about reducing, reusing and recycling waste at home. They learned all about what to put in each of the bins, the consequences of littering and doing graffiti, and what they can do to clean up our local area. Thank you Kevin and Ronny for such an informative morning!

| Winners! Thank you for our cool recycled stationary! |
Last but by no means least, the Edinbarnet dodgeball team were the champions at the Active Schools dodgeball festival on Thursday 22nd February. Along with children from Primary 4/3, Cara, Brooke, Libby, Brooke, George and Kian ran, caught and dodged to the best of their ability; coming first out of fifteen teams! Well done to everyone involved, we are so proud of your achievement!
