Primary 4 and Primary 4/3 Trip to the Gurdwara
Glasgow Gurdwara
In RE, Primary 4 and Primary 4/3 have been learning about different religions from around the world. To extend their learning on Sikhism, both classes went on a trip to the Glasgow Gurdwara. Despite taking a quick stop at the wrong Gurdwara, the two classes had a fantastic day and learned a lot about Sikhism and what Sikhs believe.
We saw inside the Darbar Sahib (the prayer hall) and even experienced a Sikh sermon being given by a visiting Guru; complete with hymns and readings from the Guru Granth Sahib (the sacred scriptures). We also enjoyed trying out the instruments for ourselves, and loved tasting Sikh food in the Langar (the Gurdwara's kitchen).
A huge thank you to Mrs Kaur, Mr Singh and everybody at the Glasgow Gurdwara - we had a fantastic day!

| We were lucky enough to see a sermon in the Darbar Sahib (the prayer hall). We all sat in silence on the floor. |

As part of the sermon, we also heard some hymns. These were played by members of the Gurdwara's congregation.

| After the sermon, Mrs Kaur showed us the 5 Ks. These are the most important objects in the Sikh religion. |

World Book Day 2018
We had great fun dressing up as our favourite book characters! Can you guess who we were?

A big thanks to the staff at Faifley Library for teaching us how all the books are organised and letting us know how easy it is to join.
SSPCA & Recycling Workshops
Primary 4 were very lucky to take part in an SSPCA and recycling workshop organised by West Dunbartonshire Council. We learnt all about caring for animals and who to call if we see an animal needing help.
Binman taught us all about what and how to recycle then we played a giant board game to see what we had learnt.
