Primary 3 enjoy exploring science in our STEM Hub!

During this term the boys are girls of primary 3 will be conducting weekly science experiments in our STEM hub then linking this to their Big Writing lessons in order to develop their functional writing skills, with a particular emphasis on scientific report writing.  The children explored what would happen when raisins were dropped into water compared with lemonade.  The children came up with a question relating to what they wanted to find out, made interesting predictions about what they thought would happen then following the experiment they wrote up the procedure, results and a conclusion. The children thoroughly enjoyed being scientists for the morning, and as you can see, followed all the safety rules by wearing their lab coats and safety goggles!
The children are discussing what they are noticing.

Mary is helping to gather the equipment.

Cara is observing cautiously to see what happens.
